Threats

A unique feature of the wetland which was surveyed by the team in the long stretch was once or many years back a lake created by the British. The lake has now dried up and in its place is a small stream   which cuts across the valley and passes under the bridge to the other side upto a long distance. With agriculture on both sides of the valley the stream reeked of pesticides and lot of other debris floated on it. The drying up of the lake could very well be a result of climate changes and human activity over the decades. Further study might reveal the nature and extent of threat to the existing wetland and stream, which could face a similar situation few years from now.
